Sports Premium PE Funding

This funding is a payment to schools from Central Government and can only be spent on school sport and PE.  Schools can choose how best to use the funding to improve and add to the sport and PE provision to help children to develop healthy lifestyles. The funding should be used to build capacity and capability within schools to ensure that improvements made will benefit children joining the schools in future years.

In 2025-26, Court Lane Infant School received £18,380 in Sports Premium funding.  The school used this funding to:

• Develop our 'Outdoor Play and Learning' provision at lunchtimes so that children can participate in active play and games every day
• Buy-in external coaches to provide additional curriculum opportunities, like the African Dance and CM Sports themed days
• Pay for professional development opportunities for staff in PE/sport
• Provide cover to release primary teachers for professional development in PE/sport
• Run school sport competitions, such as the Sports Days
• Buy quality assured teaching materials and scheme for PE/sport
