The wearing of uniform encourages pride in the school and a sense of belonging. We ask parents to support us in ensuring that children come to school dressed appropriately in the correct uniform.

Non branded items can be purchased from local stores and MUST be plain(No Logos) or please see details below for Pre-Loved uniform.

The school colours are jade green and grey.

Skirts/Trousers or shorts	Grey tailored dresses, skirts, trousers and shorts (in traditional school style) (Leggings, jeggings, or close-fitting cycling shorts are not school uniform). Black clothing is not school uniform.
Polo Shirts	White or jade green with school logo (optional) or plain white.
Sweatshirts  or Cardigans	Jade green with school logo (optional) or plain jade green
Shirts / Blouses	White.
Summer Dresses	Green or Yellow gingham
Shoes	All Black flat, sided shoes - No sandals or boots
Socks / tights	Grey, black or white
Book bags	Jade green nylon with school logo (optional) or plain jade green

PE Kit

Shorts	Black
T-Shirt	Jade green with school logo (optional)  or plain jade green
Plimsolls	Black slip on

All children with long hair (shoulder length and below) must tie it back. Earrings should be studs only, not hoops of any kind.

P.E Kit should be kept in a drawstring bag marked with child’s name. Additionally, plain black track suits may be worn for outdoor games whenever the weather is cold. Earrings must be removed for PE/Games.

For P.E in the hall, the children walk to the hall in their P.E kits and shoes, then do P.E and Dance in bare feet. This is essential for high quality work in dance and gymnastics.

Please be aware of the following rules concerning uniform and appearance:-

• No backpacks - book bags only - there simply isn't room and they are a tripping hazard
• Trainers with any colour other than black, are not acceptable as school uniform and flimsy or brightly coloured sandals are not appropriate or safe
• The wearing of other jewellery, e.g. rings, necklaces, bracelets is not allowed
• More extreme styles of hair are not allowed (the school adopts the Halo Code in establishing appropriateness)

Parents will be asked to ensure children keep within these guidelines and support the school policy.

Pre-loved uniform

There are also ways to obtain good quality, pre-loved uniform. These schemes not only help to save families money, it’s also great for the environment.

Email uniform@hiveportsmouth.org.uk or fill in the form and their team will put together your order and arrange a convenient day and time for collection from Central Library, Guildhall Square. All completely free.

School is also always appreciative of donated items of uniform or underwear, especially tights, to be used should a child need changing for any reason.

If your child comes home with a borrowed item please wash, dry and return as soon as possible to the school office so we have a stock ready for other emergencies!!
